Just a reminder that this Saturday (25th January 2020) sees the Altra West Highland Way training weekend run.  The plan is to meet outside the Oak Tree Inn in Balmaha at around 9.45am, for a 10.00am (prompt) start.  The full run is an out and back along the West Highland Way to Inversnaid, which is a total of 30 miles.  However shorter options are available too, such as to Rowardennan and back, which is just under 16 miles, or indeed any other distance on the route.

Everyone is welcome, whether staying for the weekend at the Oak Tree or not.  Remember that it is January in Scotland and dress appropriately for the conditions.  If you are likely to be out for more than 6 and half hours then bring a headtorch.  It is good practice for everyone to carry one just in case, along with an emergency foil blanket or bivvy bag.

Steve from race sponsors Altra will be there, with a pool of demo shoes for anyone to try out.  Simply choose your shoe, run whatever distance you plan to do, and return them once you finish.  This has been very popular for people over the last few years.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Ian Beattie
